Women’s basketball is off to a successful start. Coach Lumpkin, as well as captains Katie Rebsom, Ashlie Collins, and Mckenzie Long have already led the team to a win against McMinnville. Over winter break the team traveled to Phoenix, Arizona for a tournament and an opportunity for some tougher competition. Senior Juriana Barboza was excited for “the chance to participate in a tournament full of great teams.”
This year’s team is full of talent and is very a tight knit group. According to Juriana, they may be “a small team, but a lot of the girls are passionate about the sport and one another.” They are all excited for the season and can’t wait for some more home games. Their next home game is Tuesday, January 3rd. Come out and support you Vikings!
