Respect Week

Written by Matthew Hampton

Respect is something everyone at Forest Grove High School takes very seriously, so much so that we dedicated an entire week to it! The week of March 12-16 was Respect Week at FGHS, with each day having its own specific theme, and it was a resounding success, and national respect day was March 7th.

One day the student body created a positivity chain, where students could come to a table during lunch and write a positive message on a link, and leadership students would create a chain. The chains made are currently hung up on the bridges in the commons, so if you ever need a pick-me-up, just one look at the chain is sure to cheer you up!

Other days included dressing up as your favorite staff member, and sitting with different people at lunch, which many students enjoyed and helped to being a sense of unity to the student body at our high school. That’s really what respect is all about, being able to put differences aside and work and play with others, a message Respect Week was meant to send.

The unified classes helped to put on the respect assembly and were a strong force is making Respect Week such a success, along with the ASB, so if you meet them, be sure to thank them for such an awesome (and respectful) week!
